The artist shuttrmouse was born in 1987 and raised in southern Maine. The “main” focus of her work is the area around her, specifically her hometown. She graduated from the Maine College of Art (MeCA) in the spring of 2009 receiving a BFA in Photography, with a thesis project revolving around her growing and expanding hometown. Most of her work has only been shown within the school, besides a few instance, when she was still involved with the school; a group show that involved five MeCA photography students that was shown in Rockland, at the Landing Gallery (2008), and a group of photos by MeCA students that traveled across the state of Maine, sharing the stories of teachers and learners involved with the Literacy Volunteers of Maine "Faces of Literacy: Voices of Courage" (2009-2010).
